Terms of Service | Veracton

1. Operator and contact

Veracton is the operator of veracton.com and provides business validation tools for VAT, trade and payment workflows. General support: hello@veracton.com. Pro and API enquiries: pro@veracton.com. Data protection enquiries: privacy@veracton.com.

2. Acceptable use

Use Veracton only for lawful business validation, compliance, onboarding, payment review or development purposes.
Do not scrape, crawl, bulk-download, republish or resell Veracton pages, data, reports or API responses without a written agreement with us.
Do not use automated tools to copy, mirror or archive any part of the website, its templates, styling, text or generated documents.
Do not attempt to bypass authentication, rate limits, credit limits or access controls.
Do not submit payment card data beyond the minimum number needed for the visible card/BIN check.
Do not use Veracton, or any result, report or reference to Veracton, in connection with fraud, money laundering, sanctions evasion, misrepresentation or any other unlawful activity.

3. Validation limits

Veracton checks identifier format, checksum logic, public registry responses and available enrichment data. A valid result does not prove that a counterparty is safe, solvent, authorised to trade, or entitled to receive a payment. You remain responsible for your own tax, customs, payment and fraud-control decisions.

4. Accounts, credits and API access

Some features require an account, API key or credit balance. You are responsible for keeping credentials secure and for all activity performed through your account or API keys. We may suspend access where we reasonably suspect abuse, security risk, unlawful use or breach of these terms.

5. Reports and audit evidence

PDF reports and result pages record the information available to Veracton at the time of the check. They are operational evidence, not legal, tax, customs or payment advice. External registry availability can change and registry operators may correct or withdraw data after a check has been run.

6. Intellectual property

The Veracton website, including its design, layout, text, graphics, logos, code, report templates and the structure and presentation of validation results, is owned by Veracton or its licensors and is protected by copyright, database rights and other intellectual property laws. You may view pages for your own business use and download reports generated for your own checks. You may not otherwise copy, reproduce, redistribute, create derivative works from, frame, or make available to third parties any part of the website or its content without our prior written consent.

In particular, you may not copy or imitate the Veracton service, its report formats, page designs or documentation to build, train or improve a competing product or dataset.

7. Veracton name and branding

"Veracton", the Veracton logo and the veracton.com domain are trade identifiers of Veracton. You may make factual, accurate references to Veracton (for example, "checked with Veracton on [date]"). You may not:

use the Veracton name or logo in a way that suggests we endorse, certify, approve or partner with you, your business or your goods, unless we have agreed this in writing;
register or use domain names, company names, social media handles or product names that are confusingly similar to Veracton;
alter, forge or fabricate Veracton reports, result pages or screenshots, or present a modified document as issued by Veracton.

A Veracton check is a point-in-time technical validation. It is not a certification, accreditation, guarantee or endorsement of any business, and must not be described as such to third parties.

8. Misuse, fraud and indemnity

We are not a party to your transactions and have no control over how third parties use, quote or misrepresent our name or output. If a person commits fraud or any unlawful act while referring to Veracton, that act is theirs alone; it is not done on our behalf, with our authority or with our endorsement. We reserve the right to report suspected fraud or unlawful use to registries, payment providers and law enforcement, and to cooperate with their investigations.

You agree to indemnify Veracton against losses, claims and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these terms, your misuse of the service, or your unauthorised use of the Veracton name, branding or reports.

9. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind to the extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that results are complete, current or error-free, or that the service will be uninterrupted. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of business, or decisions made in reliance on validation results; our total liability for claims relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the 12 months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, including for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

10. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, how long we keep it and how to exercise your rights.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from them, except where mandatory consumer law in your country of residence provides otherwise.

12. Changes

We may update these terms as the service changes. Continued use of Veracton after an update means you accept the updated terms.
